3 shades of pōhutukawa

Red, orange, and yellow flowers and leaves of the iconic pōhutukawa (Metrosideros excelsa), AKA the NZ Christmas tree (because it flowers at Christmas time). Also shown here are white flowers from the equally iconic tī kōuka/cabbage tree (Cordyline australis).

For many Kiwis, pōhutukawa in flower = Christmas! Pictured here in Coromandel.
